Columbia Road Flower Market will reopen this Sunday 5th July from 8am to 2pm but it’s going to look and feel quite different.
For everyone’s safety the stalls will now be spread out along one side of the road facing the shops, starting from the Birdcage pub. Some extra roads will be closed and the number of people who can be in the market at the same time will be limited. We really welcome all the efforts put in by LBTH Markets team to allow for the return of the market and make it as safe as possible.
Please do come along to shop from your favourite plant and flower sellers and local shops but we we would all like to keep numbers manageable to start with please don't just come from afar for the sake of it.
It will be simply wonderful to have our Market back, not since the Blitz has Columbia Road been without flowers and plants on a Sunday and it has felt so empty. This image is from a series commissioned by London Transport in the 80's and the artist is Kay Galloway, and hangs on our wall at home. To me it sums up the colour and vibrancy of the market which can now return in a new format.
This season the Precious Summer Sale is only available online or at our Columbia Road shop and we very much look forward to seeing you again soon we will be open from 9 to 4pm on Sunday.
