A recent discovery from Denmark has helped me to fall in love with socks. Never a favourite item, I am now convinced that good socks are a must.
Which is just as well because we have some stunning new styles this season and a great selection from new brand MP Denmark, Selected Femme and Nooki.
So ladies, take my advice and forget the multi pack of basics from the high street, I’m talking about interesting colours, chic designs and lovely natural fibres which make a huge difference to the comfort of one’s feet in winter. Here are my must haves for the perfect sock selection.
1. the cosy sock
Perfect for wearing with Birkenstocks in winter these wool and cotton blend long socks from MP Denmark are a must. Also great to wear with trainers or boots.
2. the cool trainer sock
Gorgeously soft cotton and fabulously chic colourways again from MP Denmark but also love Selected Femmes Mel ribbed melange sock for this daily added layer of comfort to a pair of trainers.
3. The pretty sock
Adding a pretty feminine design that can work with a smarter shoe with more tailored trousers for a hint of pattern and colour is a really nice option. Subtle stripes and retro florals fit the bill nicely from MP Denmark. Plain brighter shades from Selected Femme also add a touch of personality to your look.
4. the sparkly sock
perfect for evening or wearing with pretty sandals or high heeled shoes and either cropped jeans or a dress. Miucca Prada has long been a fan of a sparkly sock and some of the prettiest this season are from Selected Femme and Nooki - yes we all need a little Nooki in our lives !
