Top 5 Knitwear Trends for AW21

As an ex Harrods Knitwear Buyer I have to confess that selecting knitwear for the shops is always one of my favourite categories, and this season is no exception. In fact knitwear has proved to be stronger than ever this season as it's the perfect solution to elegant and stylish dressing for a more hybrid working lifestyle.

Shades of cream, winter white and soft nuetral colours that can be layered tonally are also important this season as is embellishment of buttons and collars details, while the cardigan makes a welcome return.

top 5 knitwear trends - the sweater vest

1. the sweater vest

Sleeveless sweater vests are enjoying a come back this season. Super practical and chic at the same time they mean you can get that extra layer while leaving all that gorgeous sleeve detail on dresses and blouses visible. Some of our favourites this season are from Munthe, Part Two and Jumper 1234.

Cable knits are back whether it's an all over texture or a featured panel or band, think textural knits in bold colours or simple nuetrals that make this classic style look fresh and modern. Great cables this season to be found from Munthe, Part Two and Jumper 1234.

4. patterned knits

Intarsia patterns, classic fair isles or bold block stripes make a statement with your sweater this season and add a clever pattern to the mix. Stripes always give you a chic yet elegant sporty vibe while a pretty fair-isle looks lovely styled with more casual cords and cottons. Check out Part Two, Jumper 1234, Lollys Laundry or Selected Femme.
